Out with the OLD In with the NEW
So my services for screen eggs and ham were no longer needed. Apparently they can't afford me. Which is fine it was a learning experience. Which taught me that some people are difficult to deal with but one must grin and bear it. Now I have a new internship with a nice lady named Bonita and she is creating a new organization called Common Ground and I'm the head designer and I will be helping her make a face for the organization! it's very exciting I'll be creating the logo from the ground up and everything in between that! so I guess it's my baby! I'm learning a lot and hoping for the best I may not be getting paid but that doesn't matter to me only experience matter and becoming better as a designer! So above it the process that I'm at deciding on a logo and colors and such things like that! I always love feedback so feel free to give an opinion

Interning...tricky business
Interning is more difficult than I thought. It's tricky finding people who will want to take an intern on. and it's hard to find jobs... I'm hoping that I can find something close to home but I might have to branch out to Grand rapids. Which I don't know what to think about that. Not sure if it is a good thing or bad. Hopefully I'll spark some one's interest and they'll want to work with me. I think I have a lot to offer and my designs are innovative... I mean I don't wanna toot my own horn but I'm pretty awesome. I recently did a wine label, for my first one i think it is pretty cool. I learned so much from creating it too. Like if your making a wine label they have to go through the government and the government takes forever to approve it and sometimes they'll just send it back and say fix it but not say what they want fixed. It was an interesting experience... in which i didn't get an intern job out of but i still get to count the hours for the work i did. Which is really nice. knowing this, I'm thinking of asking my dad if I can create a new business card for his knife business. at least i'll get more hours probably wont get paid but i need the hours... I'll worry about the pay later, when I have my official degree.

Slow Going...
I 'm running out of time and internships I feel like I'm looking in all the wrong places. When I get a lead it turns cold and nothing come from it. I try to get internships but seems like no one wants to have me. They all turn into dead ends. I'm trying to create a new wine label to this local winery I plan to create the design an then present it to them. Hopefully they will see it and want me to do more for them a job an internship anything would be great. Even if I'm not paid, I really just need the hours. I'm so frustrated I feel like I'm failing and I'm scared I might have to go back to school for something else or for my bachelors I dunno yet I'm so freaked and unsure of things. but I feel like I'm running out of time. Which is true... I am.

Screen Eggs and Ham
My internship is not as busy as i'd like it to be . I am interning with a company called Screen eggs and ham. I recently did my first solo project a T-Shirt design for a Cancer walk fundraiser. I did it from start to finnish all on my own not teachers helped me and I am pretty satisfied with what I cam up with. I had a few things Judy wanted but other wise I had creative range and control to my self. which was exciting and I feel I did a great job. It was mostly a challenge for me. the feet where hard to recreate and make them look like they were forming a breast cancer ribbon but by adding the paint swash it gave it some structure and form. I liked they colors after playing round with them and trying different options, some advice from a friend gave me the idea to make the ribbon have more color and not just plain pink. I like the earth tones they make it unique and I like that. Also the feet needed to gradually fade because they looked like a jumbled blob when they crossed . When it came down to sending it to Judy in the separations that was the tricky part. especially with the feet I had to make them into halftones using half tone swatches and the compound path and clipping masks for each. but it was a great learning experience and I made the client happy and that 's all that matters at the end of the day!

I don't know what the title is...
I'm finally registered for my internship. plus Judy has another job for me to work on but nothing exciting yet, I can't wait for the graphic she has for me. Apparently, it's suppose to be fun. I'm just hoping i don't screw it up. I hope after the portfolio review day I can get a great graphic design job. It's like getting a full time graphic job is jumping into the rabbit hole...

May 3rd is my portfolio review day! Basically I feel like this day will say weather I'll make it or break it as a Graphic Designer... But since I'm stubborn I'll keep trying even if the outlook seems bad. I believe I have the talent and creative mind to be a great designer. My mind it like a parachute and it's always open! This is what I have been preparing so diligently for all semester and I know I'll succeed on way or another. I just can't wait to have a job or several to sink my teeth in to.

My business logo
Rolling Stones Magazine Layout-Prince-
This is another project, that I really love. I enjoyed redoing it for my portfolio and was glad I had the opportunity. This was a challenge that I would love to do in the real world. I think working with the type is something that I enjoy working with. I feel like I have a knack for it. Plus, It just looks cool!

Panoramic
This is a panoramic, that I did when I first started taking designing classes at MCC. I thought for a long time that I lost it but It was only on my other O: drive under my old last name. Thank Goodness because I worked hard on this Panoramic and it is near and dear to me. When I took the shots It was on an old camera that was not mine, and I did not have a tripod, I had to improvise and use a wooden board I had found at the picture sight. Needless to say I had to do a lot of photoshop editing to make it work. So that is why I am glad I still have it.
